BY BARBARA M. TOBIAS –
Early in June, several of us attended a workshop conducted by Bill Garrison—his work is on display all this month at Mena Art Gallery, 607 Mena Street. Hours are from 11 to 2 on Tuesdays, 10 to 3 on Wednesdays through Fridays.
It was so much fun that we decided we’d like to continue it on our own. There are dozens of beautiful places to paint and draw within a few miles of downtown, and we hope to find all of them.
If you have any interest in joining us, please call the gallery (479-394-3880) and give them your name and phone number so we can let you know when and where. Email address would be handy as well.
You can work in any media that you can carry along: oil painting, watercolor, colored pencil, sketching are all media that lend themselves to plein air work. And if some of you photographers want to come along and record the beautiful sites in your own way, that’s fine too. But be sure to call the gallery and get your name on the list.
