The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Scott Sawyer for the week of November 4, 2024 – November 10, 2024. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.
November 4, 2024
Holly Robinson, 32, of Mena was arrested on a Failure to Appear Warrant.
Marco Gonzalez, 41, of Mena was arrested on a Body Attachment.
Deputies responded to a walk-in complainant in reference to a theft. Information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney for further consideration.
November 5, 2024
Deputies responded to a walk-in complainant in reference to harassment.
Harold Smith, 74, of Cove was arrested on a warrant for Sexual Indecency with a Child and 2nd Degree Sexual Assault.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 270 near Acorn in reference to a disturbance leading to the arrest of Troy Cearley, 26, of Mena on charges of 3rd Degree Domestic Battery and 3rd Degree Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 8 E near Mena in reference to a trespasser. Information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney for further consideration.
Deputies responded to a report of a violation of a no contact order.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Lee Lane near Mena in reference to a verbal domestic dispute. Information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney for further consideration.
November 6, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Kidron Valley Lane near Acorn in reference to a domestic dispute leading to the arrest of Victor White, 58, of Mena on a charge of 2nd Degree Domestic Battery.
Deputies responded to a report of a missing firearm.
November 7, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Tims Lane near Hatfield in reference to a verbal altercation leading to the arrest of Charles Shelton, 42, of Hatfield on charges of Public Intoxication and Disorderly Conduct.
Deputies were dispatched to a business near Hatfield in reference to a theft.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 34 near Hatfield in reference to harassment.
Thomas Hilderbrand, 35, of Mena was arrested on a warrant for Fraudulent Use of a Credit or Debit Card.
November 8, 2024
Amber Self, 40, of Mountain Pine was arrested on a Probation Violation Warrant and a Body Attachment.
November 9, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 8 W near Mena in reference to a physical domestic altercation leading to the arrest of Joseph Derting, 48, of Mena on a charge of 3rd Degree Domestic Battery.
Jason Morris, 40, of Cove was arrested on twelve Failure to Appear Warrants.
