Polk County Sheriff’s Report – March 31 – April 6, 2014

The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of March 31 – April 6, 2014.  The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts.  Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

March 31, 2014

Report of a disturbance on 9th Street in Mena led to the arrest of Freddie Rushin, 62, of Mena, on a Charge of Disorderly Conduct.

Report of a disturbance at a business in Cove led to the arrest of David T. Sinyard, 38, of Mena, on Charges of Battery 3rd Degree and Disorderly Conduct.

Arrested was Lydia J. Rodgers, 23, of Mena, on a Charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Report of a 16-year-old Mena female that had ran away from home.  The juvenile was later located and returned to the custody of a parent/guardian.

April 1, 2014

Traffic stop on Polk 46 near Mena led to the arrest of Justin M. Cannon, 26, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License.

April 2, 2014

Report from walk-in complainant of being harassed by an individual.  Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report from a business in Cove of the theft of prescription medication.  Arrested was Casey L. Parker, 28, of Hatfield, on Charges of Theft of Property and Possession of an Instrument of Crime.

April 3, 2014

Report from complainant on Settlers Lane near the Potter community of an animal that had been shot.  It was determined that the action was justified.

Report of a juvenile with a weapon at the Vandervoort playground.  Officer determined that no criminal intent had been demonstrated.

Report of a disturbance on Polk 39 near the Potter community led to the arrest of Justin M. Cannon, 26, of Mena, on Charges of Assault on a Family Member and Possession of an Instrument of Crime.

Arrested was Charles R. Czarnetzki, 39, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Appear.

April 4, 2014

Report of the attempted theft of electronics led to a 15-year-old Mena male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Theft of Property.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on Woodland Lane near Mena of an unauthorized person on their property.  Arrested was Johnny R. Brown, 36, of Mena, on Charges of Breaking or Entering and Criminal Trespass.

April 5, 2014

Report of an unauthorized vehicle at a business in Mena led to the arrest of Tyler J. Smith, 19, of Cove, on a Charge of Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

Report from complainant on Polk 18 near the Hatton community that someone had tampered with a vehicle and back door.  Officer could find nothing amiss.

Report from complainant on Polk 39 near the Potter community of the theft of a stove, valued at $1,000.00.  Investigation continues.

Discovery of a suspicious substance led to a 14-year-old Cove male being issued Juvenile Citations for Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance and Possession of an Instrument of Crime.  The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.

Report from complainant on Highway 88 East near the Cherry Hill community of the theft of a chain saw, valued at $350.00.  Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 42 near the Potter community of missing animals.  Investigation continues.

April 6, 2014

Report of a domestic disturbance on Highway 71 South near Cove led to the arrest of Phillip M. Bond, 40, of Cove, on Charges of Domestic Battery 3rd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Operations, Disorderly Conduct and Refusal to Submit to Arrest.

Report from complainant on Polk 53 near Mena of an unauthorized person on their property led to the arrest of Jamie D. Miller, 40, of Mena, on Charges of Residential Burglary, Breaking or Entering and Criminal Trespass.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Highway 71 North in Mena led to the arrest of Jose A. Navarrete, 41, of Dequeen, and Ursula Langley, 33, of Heavener, OK, each on a Charge of Disorderly Conduct.
