LITTLE ROCK, AR – U.S. Senator Mark Pryor today announced that Polk County will receive $1,126,309 in FEMA funds to help recover from last year’s severe winter storm. Pryor, along with the majority of the Arkansas delegation, voted in support of the bipartisan omnibus appropriations bill, which secured this funding for Polk County.
“Over the past few years, our state has experienced more than its fair share of natural disasters—from winter storms to tornadoes to flooding,” Pryor said. “Receiving this funding underlies why we need to support legislation like the omnibus appropriations bill that provides disaster relief for communities in need.”
According to FEMA, the funding will be provided to Rich Mountain Electric Cooperative in Mena to repair its damaged distribution center.
