Quality of Life Outreach, along with U of A Division of Agriculture Polk County Extension Office, are once again hosting Walk Across Polk County, where teams will compete for the most miles walked and will gain healthy benefits along the way. There will be a team captain meeting at the Extension Education Center, next door to the Extension Office on DeQueen Street, on March 10th at 5:30 p.m.
The registration deadline for teams is March 11th at 5 p.m. The walking event will last from Saturday, March 19, when they kick-off at Janssen Park in Mena until Saturday, May 14. Teams must turn in team mileage each Monday during the Walk Across Polk County. Blood draws will be taken the week before and the week after the walking program begins to monitor health benefits.
