(MENA) The Polk County Sheriff Department, in cooperation with the Arkansas State Police Crime Investigation Department are investigating a suspicious death that happened sometime in the early morning hours of Saturday, March 9th.
The Sheriff’s Department received a 911 call concerning a gunshot victim on Polk 42, just East of Mena. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Calvin “CJ” Goforth, 36, deceased in a vehicle parked on Polk 42.
Polk County Sheriff Scott Sawyer stated, “this is an active investigation and to protect the integrity of our investigation, no further details will be released at this time. Please keep the Goforth family and friends in your thoughts and prayers”.
