The Montgomery County Council for the Performing Arts is happy to announce a Disney musical. “Freaky Friday” has been called Disney Channel’s infectiously charming musical.
When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. “Freaky Friday”, a new musical by Tom Skitt, Bridgette Carpenter and Brian Yorkey, based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic. Unable to switch back, they spend a day in each other’s shoes and are forced to masquerade as one another until a solution can be found. In the process, Katherine and Ellie develop a new sense of respect and understanding for one another. They come to appreciate one another’s struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter.
Make plans now to join us for the laughter, the struggle, the tears & the wedding, April 13th & 15th @ 7 PM, and Sunday, April 14th @ 2 PM in the Roosevelt Auditorium. Admission is $8.
