The following information was received from Mena Police Department for the week of May 4 – May 10, 2014. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.
May 4, 2014
A local man reported that someone had damaged his mailbox. Case is pending further investigation.
May 5, 2014
Administrators at a local assisted living facility reported that a former employee had been harassing members of the staff by repeatedly calling them. Law enforcement personnel contacted the former employee and she agreed to stop calling.
Employees at a local florist shop reported that a woman was harassing them. Case is pending.
May 6, 2014
Nathan V. Smith, 35, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure-to-appear to pay fines and court costs.
Devin Lee Ashley, 18, Keelan Baucom, 18, both of Mena were charged with minor in possession of alcohol and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after an incident at the local high school. Also charged with possession of alcohol by a minor were two 17-year-old Mena youths.
A local woman reported that her stepdaughter’s boyfriend had vandalized her vehicle. Case is pending further investigation and interview of suspect.
Benjamin Lindsey, 21, of Mena was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of carrying a weapon, careless driving and speeding after a routine traffic stop.
Employees at a local retail store reported a shoplifting incident. Case is pending review of surveillance tape.

Amber Nicole Brock, 31, of Mena was charged with felony probation violation.
May 8, 2014
Robert Pat Lanham, 21, of Mena was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Andrea Doreen Cowden, 52, of Mena was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule VI controlled substance, and public intoxication after a call requesting assistance from the Polk County sheriff’s office.
May 9, 2014
Christopher Chesser, 29, of Mena was arrested on a warrant for failure-to-pay child support.
Lisa Eaton, 42, of Mena was served an outstanding warrant for failure-to-appear.
John Lueck, 51, of Mena was charged with public intoxication and obstructing governmental operations after officers were called to a local convenience store.
A local man reported that his lawn mower was missing from his residence. Case is pending.
May 10, 2014
Dustin W. Lane, 20, of Mena was charge with public intoxication and fleeing after officers were called to a local convenience store.
Cord Dale Olson, 28, of Mena was charged with DWI, careless driving, and driving on a suspended driver’s license. The arrest followed a routine traffic stop.
Michael Ryan Niemeyer, 25, of Texarkana, Arkansas was charged with DWI and speeding after a traffic stop.
Employees at a local convenience store reported a gas skip. Case is pending.
Officers completed an additional 18 reports and worked six accidents.
