Senior night was a night the 8 senior Bearcats will remember forever. Taking on the number 1 team in the conference, number 2 in the state, the Bearcats played great basketball. Drew Plunkett played a game he will never forget scoring, 24 out of the 63 points. The Bearcats were fully in control in the first half and it was 24 to 14. In the third quarter, the Bearcats allowed the Malvern Leopards to cut into their lead, making the score 38 to 31. At the end of the fourth, Malvern came back to tie the game at 55, forcing overtime. In the first overtime Mena fell short 68 to 63, Malvern won. Also helping the Bearcats was Zak Terwilliger with 14 points and Cross Hughes with 11 points. Coach Aaron O’Brien said “We had a total team effort from the top 8 players on defense the entire night. Number 1, from Malvern, has signed to a Division 1 school and is one of the top players in the state. Our players tried their very best to contain him defensively.” Coach also stated that Drew Plunkett was a fearless scorer.
