Ed Martin, age 46 of Mena, has been apprehended by police in Oklahoma after being identified as the suspect in a shooting that occurred just outside of Mena on Monday, October 31, 2016. A BOLO was issued for Martin just before 9 p.m. on Halloween night when he fled the scene of a shooting that happened on Polk 76 East, near Acorn. His direction of travel was unknown at the time.
Martin was apprehended by police in Leflore County, Oklahoma either late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. Martin currently awaits transport to Polk County by Sheriff’s Deputies.
The Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Martin is the suspect in the shooting that occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. on Monday evening that injured one person. The victim, a 42-year old white male, was transported to Mena Regional Health System, before being taken to another hospital for surgery.
