Last Tuesday, the Mena Bearcats traveled to Waldron to take on their arch rival Bulldogs.
Both teams went back and forth in the first eight minutes, but the Bearcats were able to take a 2 point lead into the second quarter, outscoring Waldron 12-10. The pace stayed the same in the second quarter, allowing Mena to attain a 3 point lead heading into halftime, with the score 25-22.
In the third quarter, Mena started pulling away with the game, outscoring the Bulldogs 14-9 to make the score 39-31 going into the final quarter of play. The Bearcats finished off Waldron in the last eight minutes, outscoring the Bulldogs 19-9, to win the game by 18 points.
Connor Harvey led the Bearcats in scoring with 20 points, while Cross Hughes added 15 points and Darius Sims 13 points.
