Mena Police Department – September 29 – October 5

The following information was received from Polk County law enforcement agencies. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

September 29, 2013

Officers responded to an alarm call at a local rent-to-own store.  The area was secured and the doors locked.

Jamie Lee May, 31, of Mena was charged with DWI and driving left-of-center after a traffic stop.

September 30, 2013

No criminal reports filed.

October 1, 2013

Kenneth Ryan Weisinger, 24, of Mena was charged with battery, violation of a protection order, and interfering with emergency communications.

October 2, 2013

No criminal reports filed.

October 3, 2013

A 17-year-old Mena youth was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a call to the local high school.

October 4, 2013

A local man reported that he is being harassed and threatened.  Case is pending interview of the suspect and further investigation.

Amber F. Quaker, 35, of Mena was charged with theft of property after a call from the manager of a local fast-food restaurant.

A 10-year-old Mena boy was charged with possession of tobacco by a minor and smoking on school property.

October 5, 2013

A local woman reported the theft of a cell phone and her prescription medications.  Case is pending.

A Mena woman reported that someone had stolen several prescription medications from her home while she was away.  Case pending.

Officers completed an additional 11 reports and worked eight accidents.
