Acorn FCCLA President Elizabeth Baker and member Rin Branson recently attended the Arkansas State FCCLA meeting along with Adviser Annette Hays. The meeting was held at Reynold’s Auditorium on UCA Campus in Conway. The theme was “EMPOWER/MEPOWER” and was further amplified with the LEGO acronym: Leadership, Experience, Growth and Opportunity.
Attendees enjoyed a motivational talk from Keynote Speaker Makayla Hendricks, National VP of Public Relations from Utah. Hendricks told her personal story and engaged students in activities demonstrating their own many opportunities for growth through FCCLA. The Arkansas State officers planned and implemented the program, which included a reading theater, recognition for all-state STAR Event winners and installation of state officers for 2016-2017. Breakout sessions students attended included: Building Your Personal Leadership Brand; FACS After High School; Officer Boot Camp; Networking Connections for Advisers; Get Connected and Building Experience with STAR Events. FCCLA is a great way to become involved, serve your community and make memories for a lifetime.
