The Mena Polk County Area Chamber of Commerce has a busy Fall planned with upcoming events and accepting nominations for leadership opportunities on the Chamber’s Board of Directors for 2016-2018.
The Chamber will be accepting nominations through October 2 for four vacancies on the Board of Directors. The nominations will be voted on by the Chamber’s general membership. The three-year term will begin in January 2016. Members of the community who are interested in having a voice in the future of the Chamber are encouraged to contact the Chamber office at 479-394-2912 or via email at secretary@menapolkchamber.com.
The Chamber has also announced the date for this year’s Christmas parade as Saturday, December 5 beginning at 6 p.m. The theme for the 2016 Annual Christmas Parade is “Candy Land” and Directors are looking forward to seeing everyone’s creativity as the community traditionally comes together to light up downtown Mena with the year’s largest parade. More information will be coming as the date draws nearer.
The Chamber is also finalizing the details for their 2nd annual Ouachita Fall Foliage Festival that will be held October 24. The family style event is centered in Janssen Park and is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the Chamber membership as well as the community. Listen to KENA 104.1FM or look in The Pulse for more information, or you can stay informed through a Facebook page for the event: Ouachita Fall Foliage Festival.
