The Cossatot River boys found themselves in a tougher position in the conference tournament. Entering the tourney as the number five seed, the Eagles had to pull off two wins to qualify for regionals.
The Eagles completed the task by knocking off the Rattlers of Murfreesboro 63-47 on Monday, February 11th. Bouncing back the following night on Tuesday, Cossatot River upset fourth seeded Mount Ida 42-26 to earn the regional tournament berth.
The Eagles lost to the tournament’s top-seed, the Dierks Outlaws, in Thursday’s semi-finals 53-42. The Foreman Gators won the boys title Saturday night by upsetting Dierks. The sixth seeded Gators won four games in six nights to take the boys tournament title.
Cossatot River’s boys will be the fourth seed from the 7-2A Conference in the regional tournament. The Eagles, now 11-20 on the year, will battle the Lafayette County Cougars Wednesday at 5:30 in opening round action of the 2A-South Regional Tournament at Junction City.
