A stabbing incident was reported to Polk County Sheriff’s Department just after 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, on Polk Road 44, south of Potter. When Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on the scene, two people, identified as 43-year old Rodney Joe Emry and 51-year old Debra Cashl, both of Mena, were found in a camper trailer and 55-year old Gerald Edward Thomas was found on the ground in front of a car with “two puncture wounds to the stomach, one below the sternum and one on the left side of the pelvic region,” according to the report filed by officers on the scene.
During the investigation, Emry reportedly confessed multiple times to stabbing Thomas. Emry has been charged for Battery – 2nd Degree. Thomas was transported by EMS to a helicopter and was flown to an area hospital where he was treated and has since been released.
