
She was born April 24, 1951 in El Paso, Texas to the late Virgil Armstrong and the late Senda Franz Armstrong. She was united in marriage to Colin White, her husband of 44 years. Hilda loved working on her fish ponds and gardening with roses and irises being her favorites. She was handy with a paint brush. She loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Aside from her family was her church family. Hilda was very active at Salem Baptist Church where she taught Children’s Church and Sunday School. Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors are husband, Colin White of Mena, Arkansas; children, Brian White of Mena, Arkansas, Jared White of Mena, Arkansas, Leah White Cannon and husband Matt of Mena, Arkansas, Jamie White McMahen and husband Clayton of Mena, Arkansas; sisters, Lenora Thornton and husband John of Mena, Arkansas, Vickie Smith and husband Skip of Mena, Arkansas, Brenda Rosson and husband Alvin of Mena, Arkansas, Tammy Langley and husband Rick of Mena, Arkansas; grandchildren, Dustin White, Olivia Cannon, Cadie Cannon, Avery Cannon, Emma McMahen and Lyla McMahen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Senda Armstrong, brother, Lee Armstrong, sister, Hilda May Armstrong, nephew, Thomas Armstrong, and her niece, Brandy Rosson.
Funeral service will be Monday, November 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salem Baptist Church with Brothers Joe Cornelison, Steve Ellison and Alvin Rosson officiating. Interment will follow in the White Oak Cemetery under the direction of the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Neugent, Britt Hobson, Dustin White, Sam Crees, Jason Harris and Kyle Walker.
