The accident occurred when the driver of the log truck attempted to cross the railroad tracks and said he did not see the train because the sun was in his eyes. The front of the semi struck the train between the first and second engine cars, causing damages to both train engines and ripping the front bumper and hood off of the semi.
The driver escaped with only a bump on his head and no other injuries were reported. The accident was worked by Arkansas State Police and Polk County Sheriff’s Deputies.
