The Mena Basscats fished in the Arkansas Youth Fishing Foundation (AYFF) Tournament at Greers Ferry on October 14.
Mena had four teams competing against 69 boats/teams from across the state in the tournament. Austin Johnston, Andrew Graves, Cason Canon, Marc David Wilson, Jarrett Burger, Jake Wiles, Evan Graves, and Austin Rose, “had their hands full with a cold front and 20-plus mph north winds. Still they persevered and won the coveted AYFF Team Championship Trophy,” said Coach Pete Rose.
Three of Mena’s four teams finished in the top 10 with Evan Graves and Austin Rose taking 3rd in the Jr. Division. “Thanks to all the local Basscat sponsors,” said Coach Rose.
Their next AYFF tournament will be held on December 3, on lake Millwood.
