Nineteen Mena High School Future Business Leaders of America members traveled to Fort Smith on February 22 for the annual FBLA Spring Leadership Conference, accompanied by their adviser Molly Lindsey and Mena Middle School FBLA adviser Teresa Torix. The following students placed in the top ten of their events: Hadley Dahlem, 1st in Business Communications; Christa Super, 2nd in Business Procedures; Cheyenne Fairless, 2nd in Health Care Administration; Braden Purvis, Connor Purvis, and Jake Talamantez, 2nd in Business Ethics; Macey Hubbard, 3rd in Computer Applications; Alex Fuchsberger and Olivia Geyer, 3rd in Desktop Publishing; Colten McDaniel, 4th in Business Calculations; Samantha Frost, 5th in Insurance and Risk Management; Isaiah Fair, 6th in Word Processing; Colton Vereyken, 8th in Personal Finance. All of the top 5 winners will move on to the State Leadership Conference held in April in Little Rock. In addition, Mena’s chapter was awarded 10th place in Largest Chapter Membership and Kaleb Posey was installed as the new District I Vice President for the 2014-2015 school year.
