Mena property tax millage decrease

The City of Mena has announced a significant reduction in property taxes, signaling a commitment to financial relief for its residents. Mena City Council, in collaboration with Mena Mayor Seth Smith, has successfully lowered property taxes from 2 mills to 1 mill, with plans to eliminate the city millage entirely by next year.

This decision comes as a result of diligent financial management and a robust local economy. This reduction is expected to provide relief to homeowners and local businesses, putting more money back into the pockets of Mena residents.

Smith expressed his enthusiasm for the tax cut, stating, “This reduction shows our fiscal responsibility and our belief in supporting the local economy. By reducing property taxes, we aim to stimulate economic growth, attract new businesses, and enhance the overall quality of life for the people of Mena.”
