After 22 years of dedication to Nidec Motor Corporation, Jim Stroope has decided to retire, leaving the managerial mantle to Mike Glover.
Nidec is a Japanese manufacturer and distributor of electric motors. Their products are found in hard-disk drives, electric appliances, automobiles and commercial and manufacturing equipment. The company has the largest global market share for the tiny spindle motors that power hard-disk drives.
Nidec Motor Corporation has 10 manufacturing facilities located in the U.S., Mexico, UK and China. According to their official website, they employ more than 22,000 people worldwide. The plant in Mena solidified itself in Mena’s community, employing hundreds of Polk County residents. The future continues to be bright for the plant, with the new manager at the helm.
Glover is confidently taking over, coming out of 30 years of manufacturing experience at a managerial level with HE&M Saw.
“My goal is to make this plant as profitable as possible,” he said.
Previously working in the Tulsa area, Glover also commented on the friendliness of Mena’s community, saying, “I think that there’s a great group of people here. Mena is a great and friendly town.”
Stroop commented on the coming years with the new manager. “The future of this plant is very, very positive,” he said. “We are growing. We are hiring.”
Nidec is currently hiring for IT supervisor and a machine operator, as well as a wide variety of other positions, with varying levels of experience. To learn more or apply, visit https://acim.nidec.com/motors/about-us/careers.
