After the very popular musical Annie Get Your Gun, the JOLT play Airline, and a wonderful concert by the 1950s–60s doo-wop group, Blend, the Ouachita Little Theatre (OLT) is preparing for an exciting late summer/fall program.
The first event will be the annual OLT Community Praise and Worship Concert on Saturday, August 17. The fall play will be the Hitchcock thriller Dial M for Murder, directed by Jennifer Ogger, October 11–13 and 16–20. While the Christmas Holiday play, December 6-8 and 13-15, which will be performed by JOLT, is not yet 100% selected, JOLT adult advisor, Judy Kropp is attempting to secure permission to do the currently-in-national-road-performance How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
The OLT’s quarterly Saturday Night At The Lyric (SNL) also has a fall performance scheduled for November 9. In addition, the OLT staff is working on securing a number of musical events including a country show planned for Wednesday, November 6. Two other nationally known performers, Kayce Glasse and her Tribute to Patsy Cline, and Roy Rivers, and his Tribute to John Denver are also in the process of being booked for this fall, along with the possible return of show tune crooner Ken Goodman, and other musical acts yet to be booked.
The future of performances for the community to enjoy at the OLT, this fall, is looking bright! There will be two excellent plays, as well as an exciting, and eclectic group of musical presentations.
