ANNIE! The musical production of “Annie” is just two short weeks away, with an opening night on Thursday, May 16, 7:30 PM. Subsequent performances will be Friday May 17 (7:30 PM), Saturday matinee May 18 (2:30 PM) and through Memorial Day weekend (Friday and Saturday May 24-25 at 7:30 PM, and Sunday matinee May 26 at 2:30 PM.) Advanced, reserved seating tickets are on sale now at the OLT office, 610 Mena St., Monday through Friday 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM daily.
To avoid disappointment, come early if you want to buy tickets at the door. Musicals often sell out the theatre, and this one promises to be a big crowd pleaser. This massive undertaking is complete with a live orchestra and a cast of 60 talented people who are your friends and neighbors. They have worked hard to provide excellent entertainment for our community, so come see what they have accomplished!
ANNUAL MEETING! The yearly business meeting to elect officers & board members, update OLT patrons on theatre progress, and give the community opportunity to participate, is scheduled for May 8 at 5:30 PM at the OLT. It will be followed by a classic Buster Keaton silent film at 6:30 PM with concessions from our beautiful newly remodeled concession stand and lobby. There is no admission charge.
BENSONS! The biennial Benson Awards will be held June 1 at the UARM Ouachita Center. The purpose of the Benson awards is to recognize amateur performers, directors, and technical personnel who work tirelessly to bring live entertainment to Polk County residents. The award ceremony is patterned after the Broadway “Tony” awards. Nominees are voted on by the members of Ouachita Little Theatre.
As a non-profit organization, no one gets paid for what they do, so this is a fun way to honor and thank those who have donated their time and talent to OLT over the last two seasons. Tickets for the public are on sale now at the OLT office as noted above for $10.00. This will pay for a catered meal beginning at 6:00 PM and the entertainment at 6:30 PM. There is no admission charge for nominees.
