Ouachita Quilt Show Chair Judy Myres admires the quilt to be given away during the show. “It features a large, hand-appliqued medallion. It’s a gorgeous quilt. And it’s huge,” Myres said. “It’ll cover a king-sized bed with plenty of room to spare.” The quilt show will be held during the Lum and Abner Festival, June 2nd and 3rd at the Historic Armory on DeQueen St.
Myres said she’s amazed by the talents of local quilters and invites them to display their work during the show. “Just bring them to the Historic Armory Wednesday, May 31st, between 8:30 a.m. and noon. There’s no charge for entering quilts and you could take home a ribbon or two.”
Profits from the show go towards Extension Homemaker Club projects, including the Polk County Single Parent Scholarship Fund.
