Report of a domestic disturbance on Highway 71 North in Acorn. Deputies responded, one of the subjects had already left the residence.

Report from walk-in complainants of being harassed by an acquaintance. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Report of a disturbance on Rocky Lane near Mena led to the arrest of Ronald D. Staggs, 52, of Mena, on a Charge of Public Intoxication.

Report of a verbal disturbance on Polk 72 near the Yocana community. One of the subjects left for the night. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.

Arrested by an officer with Arkansas Probation & Parole was Jason J. Brock, 37, of Alma, on a Probation/Parole Warrant.

July 21, 2015

Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 282 near Hatfield led to the arrest of Douglas A. Beck, 32, of Hatfield, on Charges of Aggravated Assault, Assault on a Family Member 1^st Degree, Battery 3^rd Degree, Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance and Terroristic Threatening 2^nd Degree.

Arrested was Charles M. York, 32, of Hatfield, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Arrested was Pat-Sand Barber, 34, of Mena, on a Warrant for Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Report from complainant on Cheeter Lane near the Cherry Hill community of the theft of a firearm, valued at $300.00. Investigation continues.

July 24, 2015

Arrested was Joseph D. Gonyea III, 26, of Mena, on Warrants for four counts of Failure to Appear.

Traffic stop on Highway 71 North near Acorn led to a 16-year-old Waldron runaway being taken into custody. The juvenile was released to the custody of the Waldron PD.

Arrested was Michael J. Harvey, 41, of Mena, on a Warrant for Domestic Battery 3^rd Degree.

Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Barbara P. Kelly, 42, of Grannis, on a Charge of Obstructing Governmental Operations.

July 25, 2015

Report of an ATV on fire on Polk 410 near Hatfield. The origin of the fire is believed to be mechanical.

Report of a disturbance at a church on Polk 282 in Hatfield led to the arrest of Brandon W. Gates, 30, of Hatfield, on Charges of DWI, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, No Driver’s License and Disorderly Conduct.

Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 93 near the Rocky community. Subject refused to press charges.

Report from complainant on Highway 71 North near Acorn of damage to a mailbox and a vase, causing losses of $75.00. Investigation continues.

Arrested was James E. Wilkinson, 49, of Hatfield, on Warrants for two counts of Failure to Comply with a Court Order.

Arrested by a trooper with the Arkansas State Police was Brandon R. Falls, 29, of Mena, on Charges of DWI, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License and Refusal to Submit.

Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 23 Incarcerated Inmates; 7 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility, of which 5 are currently out of jail on a monitoring system.
