The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Scott Sawyer for the week of August 26, 2024 – September 1, 2024. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

Deputies responded to a dog bite victim.
Deputies responded to a walk-in complainant in reference to items being taken by a delivery driver.
August 27, 2024
Haley Duncan, 30, of Mena was arrested on a warrant for Hindering Apprehension.
Nakeesha Lewallen, 34, of Mena was arrested on a warrant for 3rd Degree Battery.
Christopher Brown, 49, of Mena was arrested on four Failure to Appear Warrants and three Criminal Trespass Warrants.
Codie Davis, 31, of Mena was arrested on a Probation Violation Warrant.
Daniel Whitehead, 40, of Mena was arrested on four Failure to Appear Warrants.
August 28, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 38 near Potter in reference to a verbal altercation.
Elmer Elmore, 44, of Gillham was arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department on a warrant for Contempt of Court for Failure to Pay Fines.
August 29, 2024
Justin Davis, 31, of Mena was arrested on a warrant for 2nd Degree Domestic Battery.
Sarah Vannoy, 40, of Mena was arrested to be held for another agency.
August 30, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Hwy 71 S near Potter in reference to threats being received.
Curtis Smith, 32, of Hatfield was arrested on a Failure to Appear Warrant.
Deputies responded to a report of a physical altercation at the fairgrounds.
August 31, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 646 near Mena in reference to harassment and threats being made.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on May Lane near Mena in reference to a welfare check.
Deputies responded to a walk-in complainant in reference to obtaining an order of protection.
Evelyn McCormick, 56, of Grannis was arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department on a charge of Public Intoxication.
Robert Williams, 51, of Cove was arrested on a charge of Public Intoxication.
Bradley Verba, 27, of Mena was arrested on a charge of Theft of Property.
September 1, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 269 near Vandervoort in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Jesse Cheshire, 59, of Mena was arrested on five Failure to Appear Warrants.
Dawnylle Boutwell, 55, of Cove was arrested on six Failure to Appear Warrants.
