The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Scott Sawyer for the week of September 9, 2024 – September 15, 2024. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.
September 9, 2024
Jennifer Johnson, 46, of Grannis was arrested on a warrant for Violation of Suspended Imposition of Sentence.
Jessica Mayo, 38, of Vandervoort was arrested by an officer with Probation Parole on warrants for Delivery of Methamphetamine or Cocaine.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 48 near Mena in reference to a structure fire.
September 10, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on W Dover Street near Hatfield in reference to an altercation. Information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney for further consideration.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 25 E near Hatfield in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Deputies responded to a residence on Polk 61 near Mena in reference to a welfare check.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 41 N near Mena in reference to a verbal altercation.
September 11, 2024
Deputies responded to a walk-in complainant in reference to a theft.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 44 near Mena in reference to a trespasser.
September 12, 2024

September 13, 2024
Deputies responded to a report of a missing firearm. The firearm was later located.
Deputies were dispatched to Polk 178 near Acorn in reference to a vehicle accident leading to the arrest of Michael Adaway, 55, of Greenwood on charges of DWI, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, Disorderly Conduct, and Careless and Prohibited Driving.
A traffic stop on Polk 31 near Hatfield led to the arrest of Stephanie Phillips, 46, of Mena on charges of Driving left of Center, DWI, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Methamphetamine or Cocaine with Purpose to Deliver. Information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney for further consideration.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Deer Park Lane near Mena in reference to a subject being shot at. Information has been forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney for further Consideration.
September 14, 2024
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Polk 71 near Ink reference to a trespasser.
September 15, 2024
Abram Abernathy, 27, of Mena was arrested to be held for another agency.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office worked 2 vehicle accidents this week.
