Proverbs 25:11 says, “A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.”
What a beautiful reminder, again, of the weight of our words. How many of us are guilty of “empty statements.” I see constant posts on social media for various prayer request. Someone in a very challenging season crying out for prayers and how many of us are guilty of clicking “LIKE” saying to that person that “yes,” I will pray for you … and we never do. Words, even “LIKE” on Facebook, are gifts. But if we say things that have no follow-through, it can be hurtful. It’s like holding out a gift but refusing to give it. When someone trusts us for our prayers, let us be faithful in following through. Today, let us be men and women who exemplify God’s Word by keeping our word!
