Rich Mountain Community College has partnered with the premier product companies, MATRIX and OPI to provide exemplary educational and practicum experiences for RMCC students enrolled in the RMCC School of Cosmetology program.
RMCC Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. Steve Rook and RMCC School of Cosmetology Instructor, Tonya Boydstun announced that RMCC Cosmetology students will be part of one of the industry’s first virtual classrooms with an educational experience that most seasoned stylists have never experienced. The students and instructors will have interaction with world-renowned Matrix educators. If there is a seminar or class going on in New York, Ohio, Florida or California , the RMCC School of Cosmetology students will be a part of it.
Boydstun said that the process and experience is really amazing and “we are excited about this partnership and opportunity for our students.” Matrix works with some of the most in-demand hairdressers around the world. As ambassadors to Matrix, they travel the country sharing their cutting-edge creativity and techniques with stylists and students eager to expand their knowledge. With our Matrix school connection, up to four times a year, the company will actually send these stylists to the RMCC program in Mena, Arkansas.
The RMCC School of Cosmetology, located in the Northside Shopping Center, will hold its open-house Wednesday, September 11 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m.
