Rich Mountain Community College will be hosting a lecture on Traditional Ozark Life with speaker, Susan Young from the Shiloh Museum in Springdale, Arkansas. The event will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 in the Ouachita Center and begins at 10:00 a.m. It is a free event and open to the public. Susan is a fifth-generation Ozarker whose areas of interest include religion, cemeteries, and traditional folkways of the Upland South. Before settling in the Ozarks, her kinfolks hailed from the southern Appalachians in Kentucky and Tennessee. Her heritage is something she is quite proud of and passionate about so don’t miss this opportunity to hear her speak and share her knowledge and love of the Ozarks.
