A run-off election is set for Tuesday, November 28, 2016 to decide the position of Constable for Acorn Township. Frank Moore and Kristopher Lyle are two of the four candidates that initially ran for the position and both came up short of the ‘50% plus one’ votes needed to win during the General Election on November 8, 2016, forcing the run-off.
Early voting for the run-off will be held at the County Clerk’s Office inside the Polk County Courthouse. Early voting will begin on Tuesday, November 22nd and run through Monday, November 28th from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. They will be closed on Thursday, November 24, and Friday, November 25, in observance of Thanksgiving. There will be no early voting on Saturday during this election.
The run-off election will be held from 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, at the Acorn polling station. Four poll workers will be on site with two voting machines available. The Acorn polling station is located at Acorn School, 143 Polk 96.
