
She worked as a RN Nurse in Health Care and was married to Rickey Hughes. Mrs. Hughes was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by husband, Rickey Hughes of Mena, Arkansas; son, Randy Hughes and wife Julie of Austin, Texas; granddaughter, Evelyn Hughes of Austin, Texas; grandson, Wesley Hughes of Austin, Texas; daughter, Angel Meadows and husband Brian of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandson, Trindyn Meadows of Fayetteville, Arkansas; granddaughters, Addison and Jazley Meadows of Fayetteville, Arkansas; son, Jeremy Hughes and wife Alicia of Chiefland, Florida; granddaughters, Kyra, Lydia and Ruby Hughes; grandson, Jude Hughes of Chiefland, Florida; brother, James Adams and wife Traci of Bradenton, Florida; and sister, Pat Cox of Mena, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 17, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Beasley Wood Chapel with Brother Steve Squires officiating. Interment will follow in the Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, Arkansas under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Family and friends visitation will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Beasley Wood.
Pallbearers will be Robert Hughes, Trindyn Meadows, Will Sprague, Donald Squires, Bruce Edwards and Neil Taylor.

Angel and the boys, Rick , Pat, , Beautiful pic of Shirley for her announcement . This is how I want to remember her. I am out of town on a travel nurse assignment this week and will not be home until Friday so will nor be able to be there . I know your hearts are broken so I pray for you all to be comforted . I will never forget her and our times ( good and bad) in the ED at ” old Mena ” hospital . We laughed more than anything else ! Loved her so??
