Union Bank to be Featured in Arkansas Business ‘Best Places to Work in Arkansas’

By LeAnn Dilbeck

Union Bank of Mena is among twelve companies to be featured in a state-wide publication’s inaugural class of ‘Best Places to Work in Arkansas.’

Union Bank President and CEO Philip Hensley was quick to credit the entire local bank team for the honor, “No one individual is responsible for this accolade – it is truly up to each one of us to make it happen every day.”

The Arkansas Business publication partnered with the internationally renowned Best Companies Group, based in Harrisburg, Penn., and the Arkansas Society of Human Resource Management, for an independent review. One of the tools used included a 72-question internal Employee Engagement and Satisfaction Survey that was administered to the bank’s estimated 55 employees to measure overall satisfaction. “This program provides Arkansas businesses a unique opportunity to gauge employee engagement and satisfaction in many key areas,” said Chip Taulbee, Arkansas Business Associate Publisher.

Other companies joining the bank in the top 12 include: Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield, CaseStack, Cross Gunter Witherspoon & Galchus PC, Delta Dental of Arkansas, Harrison Energy Partners, Mercy Health Northwest Arkansas Communities, Rockfish, Saatchi and Saatchi X, Southwest Power Tool, St. Bernard’s Medical Center, and Soderquist Center for Leadership and Ethics.

“We are very proud to be a part of this group of outstanding companies in Arkansas,” said Hensley. “I feel teamwork is very important in making our bank a great place to work.”

The top companies will be honored in an awards ceremony September 17 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Little Rock where the overall winner will be named at that time.

Hensley said the bank found the honor humbling, “We have a great staff here at our our bank and my hat is off to all of my co-workers for making Union Bank of Mena the best it can be.”
