Six members of the Mena Barracudas Swim Team recently qualified to be part of TEAM ARKANSAS and will be competing with the rest of the state’s top swimmers in the AAU Junior Olympics in Ann Arbour, Michigan, July 26-29.
To qualify, swimmers had to place 1st, 2nd, or 3rd at a qualifying meet. Levering placed 3rd in the 200m IM (Individual Medley) and 100m Butterfly. Scott placed if five events: 200m Freestyle, 200m IM, 50m Freestyle, 50m Breaststroke, 100m Backstroke. Allison placed in three events: 50m Butterfly, 100m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle. Brad placed in the 100m Butterfly and Caldwell placed in the 50m Freestyle.
These athletes can swim three events for every event qualified for, up to three events per day to compete individually. They will be grouped with other athletes from the approximate 80 TEAM ARKANSAS swimmers to compete in medley and freestyle relays.
