Verbie D. Hamm

Mr. Verbie D. Hamm, age 72, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Cove, Arkansas. He was born October 19, 1950, in Ft. Worth, Texas, to the late Mr. Dewey Adison Hamm and Mrs. Betty Lucille (Snoddy) Hamm.

Mr. Hamm was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. While stationed in Germany, he met his wife, Edith. They were married February 12, 1972, at Bethel Baptist Church in New Potter, Arkansas. Verbie was hard-working and good hearted. He tried to help everyone. He was known as his family’s hero.  

Mr. Hamm is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Dewey Adison Hamm and Mrs. Betty Lucille (Snoddy) Hamm; brother, Gary Kimbrough, and by his sister, Geraldine Carter. He is survived by his loving wife, of 50 years, Edith Hamm; daughter, Melissa Gullet, grandchildren, Matthew Gullet and Brittany Brents; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, David Hamm, Franklin Hamm, Kerry Hamm and Leon Carter; sisters, Jennie Merrick and Ruth Bishop Brown; and by numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at the Six Mile Cemetery in Hatfield, Arkansas. Brother Troy Denton will be officiating, under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Tony Hamm, Paul Hamm, Newton Hamm, Kenny Denton, Lesley Shores, and Dale Baker.
