The following information was received from Mena Police Department for the week of April 6 – 12, 2014. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.
April 6, 2014
Jody Lee Carter, 29, of Mena was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a felony, driving on a suspended driver’s license, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, one count a misdemeanor and one count a felony.
April 7, 2014
No criminal reports filed.
April 8, 2014
Officers were notified that a counterfeit twenty-dollar-bill had been received at a local convenience store. Case is pending review of surveillance tapes.
A local woman reported that her father is sending her threatening texts. Case is pending.
April 9, 2014
Employees at a local antique shop reported that someone had broken into one of the display cases and had stolen several items. Case is pending.
A man reported that someone had taken approximately $405.00 cash from his residence. Case is pending interview of suspects.
April 10, 2014
Megan R. Frederick, 24, of Hatfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure-to-pay fines and court costs on an original charge of theft of property.
George Reed, 53, of Mena was charged with public intoxication after a call regarding a man acting strangely and trying to stop traffic on a local street.
Officers responded to a call from a local woman regarding someone possibly trying to break into her house. The area was checked with negative results.
Aaron Elvy Enyeart, 20, of Mena was charged with obstructing governmental operations, and Jose Clark Mowdy, 19, of Mena was charged with criminal trespass after officers were called to a local retail store.
Frankie Reynolds, 54, of Mena was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a certain person after a call to a local residence.
April 11, 2014
Lana Guinn, 26, of Mena was charged with DWI (second offense) after a call to a local residence and subsequent incidents.
Mary Richmond, 60 of Mena was issued a citation for obstructing governmental operations after an incident on a city street.
A local woman reported that three dogs had come into her yard and had attacked rabbits she raises. Case is pending.
April 12, 2014
No criminal reports filed.
Officers completed an additional 14 reports and worked four accidents.
