BY BARBARA M. TOBIAS –
One of the greatest joys is watching young children create art. No, they don’t have great technique or years of experience, but they have a wonderful imagination and freedom that we of the older generation can only envy.
We are fortunate in Mena to have some devoted art teachers who help these young artists to create their work. And all of us have a chance to see what they can do for the next couple of weeks.
There will be a reception at the gallery on Saturday, March 1, from 1 to 3 pm, where prizes will be presented to the winners. Again this year, McDonald’s of Mena is sponsoring these awards to our youngest artists. Please come and applaud these children for their achievements.
The exhibit will remain up through Tuesday, March 11, during regular gallery hours: 11 am to 2 pm on Tuesdays and 10 am to 3 pm Wednesdays through Saturdays. So give yourself a break and come to see what the next generation of artists is doing.
