This past Saturday, the spirit of giving was in abundance as an estimated 130 local families were recipients of Dallas Avenue Baptist Church’s “Christmas Hope” program. This is the church’s fourth year for the program that originally began with providing new shoes to area school-aged children but has grown to so much more in a short time.
Not only do the children receive a brand-new pair of shoes, they also receive a food box, clothing, toys, and diapers.
The families who participated were treated to music from children and special message from DABC Pastor Justin Leonard but any member of the church will be the first to tell you that it was they who received the greatest blessing.
The church is excited to see how the program will continue to grow from year to year and said it was one of their most favorite events and times of the year.
