James Ronald Schnell Sr., age 71, passed away Friday, February 11, 2022, at Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born June 19, 1950, in Tillamook, Oregon, to the late Ronald Frank Schnell and Jaequelin Audeen Hollingsworth. Mr. Schnell was a truck driver by profession, and bravely served his country in the United States Marine Corps in the Vietnam War for two tours. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycles. He loved his two “Pups” Jumper and Tuffy; and was a loving and caring family man and friend above all else.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Frank Schnell and Jaequelin Audeen Hollingsworth; brother, Jack Schnell, and by his first and second wives, Pamela Schnell and Janette Schnell.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Schnell; sons, Eric Schnell and wife Julie of Mena, Arkansas, James Schnell and wife Emily of Mena, Arkansas, Aaron Kyle of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Joshua Kyle and wife Ashly of Hatfield, Arkansas, and Adam Kyle and wife Cynthia of Mena, Arkansas; daughters, Jeannette Fairless and husband Jarred of Mena, Arkansas, Janel Atkinson and late husband Terry of Galena, Missouri, Charlene Fagan and husband Jim of Mena, Arkansas, Tammy Joyce and husband Bob of Manhattan, Kansas, Betty Jo Brown and husband Mark of Mena, Arkansas, and Rhonda Byers of Ozark, Arkansas; 32 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; stepfather, David Peake of Hot Springs, Arkansas; brother, Randy Schnell of Duvall, Washington; sister, Kayla Sullivan of Austin, Texas; 11 nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services for Mr. Schnell will be held Saturday, February 26, 2022, at the Beasley-Wood Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held Friday, February 25, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at the Beasley-Wood Chapel. With Brother Donnie Jewell officiating, under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral home.
