Dierks Lady Outlaws Defeat Mena LadyCats 7 to 3 in Non-Conference Action
The Lady Outlaws took an early on Thursday, March 7th. They led 1 – 0 in the first inning and added a run in the 4th and 5th innings making the count 3-0, but the Lady Cats scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th to cut the lead to one.
The game remained close until the top of the 7th, when the Lady Outlaws exploded for 4 runs on 4 hits to take a 7-2 lead. Mena would respond in the bottom of the 7th by scoring one run for the final score of 7-3.
Delany Eckert was the winning pitcher for the Lady Outlaws. She gave up 3 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 5. She also went 2 for 4 at the plate with a RBI double in the 5th and a RBI single in the 7th inning.
Abby McConnell struggled on the mound for the Lady Cats. She pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 2.
The Lady Cat leader at the plate was Morgan Puckett. She went 2 for 4 with a single and a RBI double.
Macy Johnson and Avery Powell went 1 for 4 and Reigha Smith went 1 for 3 with a single in the 4th inning.
