Mena’s Cross Country Team traveled to Clarksville, Ark on Saturday, September 28 to compete in a 3.2 mile race that was mostly grass and woodland areas. The competition was stiff but the Bearcats came in strong.
Senior Vanessa Parnell came in well ahead of the rest of the pack to grab first in the senior girls division with a time of 20:34. Katelyn Wells, also a senior, came in 10th in the tough competition.
Freshman Clint Buck completed the race with a time of 20 minutes flat and received 8th place in the senior boys division. Nathan Rhodes, a junior, came across the line in 26th place and William Scott, freshman, took 29th.
The team will travel to Hot Springs for their next meet on October 19. They are coached by Nathan Parnell.
