
She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on November 24, 1925 to the late Joseph Trinder and the late Sylvia Gray Trinder. She was married to the late William Gordon Hughes until his passing in 1998. Joyce loved all kinds of sports and doing crossword puzzles. Also enjoyed playing Bingo and going shopping with family and friends. She was a loving and kind mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all who knew her.
She is survived by sons, Bill Hughes and wife Ann of Mena, Arkansas, John Hughes and wife Barbara of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandchildren: Jennifer Gore of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Shelly Alston of Mena, Arkansas, Lynda Gay of Las Vegas, Nevada, Christy Schneider of Las Vegas, Nevada, Valeri Switzer of Tacoma, Washington; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Miffie Ingram of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Trinder and Sylvia Gray Trinder, her husband, William Gordon Hughes, brothers, Ray Trinder and Stan Trinder, and sister, Mildred Beryl Eakin.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
Mrs. Hughes will be sent for cremation.
