Nancy Taylor’s Description of the workshop:
Making Water Work
“How do you paint water?” That is the question I’m most often asked and one that this workshop is designed to explain. We will work on paintings that show different types of water often used in landscapes and in marine paintings. We will learn what to look for in painting water that is believable and that avoids common pitfalls. We will learn to paint reflections that appear to be part of the water and not something floating on top of it.
I will demonstrate in the mediums of watercolor and oil but participants may use any medium with which they are familiar. Students may use the demonstration paintings as their reference or experienced students may prefer to bring their own sketches or photos.
