The following information was received from Polk County Sheriff Mike Godfrey for the week of June 2 – June 8, 2014. The charges against those arrested are allegations and the cases are still pending in the courts. Individuals charged and whose names appear in this column may submit documentation to us at a later date that the charges have been dismissed or that they have been found innocent and we will include that information in this space in a timely manner.

Report from complainant on Highway 71 South near the Potter community of being a victim of fraud via social media. Investigation continues.
Report of a building on Cemetery Road in Hatfield having graffiti spray painted on it, causing $200.00 in damages. Investigation continues.
Report from complainant on Highway 375 East near Mena of the theft of welding equipment, an ATV and a vehicle, all valued at $4,300.00. Investigation continues.
Report from complainant of being threatened led to a 16-year-old Wickes male being issued a Juvenile Citation for Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.
Report from complainant on West Boundary Avenue in Mena of the break-in and theft of various personal belongings from their residence. Investigation continues.

Report from complainant on Polk 24 near Cove of the theft of a trailer, valued at $1,250.00. Investigation continues.
Report from complainant on Polk 84 near the Big Fork community of the theft of personal records. Investigation continues.
Report from a business in Cove of shoplifters that had fled from the premises, totaling losses at $26.95. Investigation continues.
Report of a domestic disturbance on Polk 29 near Hatfield led to the arrest of James D. Cochran, 30, of Hatfield, on Charges of Public Intoxication, Possession of an Instrument of Crime, Domestic Battery 3rd Degree and Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons.
Traffic stop on Gillham Street in Mena led to the arrest of Bradley E. Robinson, 22, of Mena, on Charges of DWI, Driving Left of Center, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance and a Montgomery County Warrant.
Report of a disturbance between neighbors on Polk 90 near the Acorn community. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.
Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Joey S. Higgins, 29, of Grannis, on a Charge of Domestic Battery 3rd Degree.
June 4, 2014
Report of a disturbance on Trailwood Lane near Mena led to the arrest of Kevin M. Mills, 38, of Mena, on a Charge of DWI. Also arrested was Kimberly A. Mills, 38, of Mena, on a Charge of Public Intoxication.
Arrested was Russell G. Corbell, 32, of Greenwood, on a Body Attachment Warrant.
Report of a domestic disturbance on Highway 8 West near the Shady Grove community led to the arrest of Amy D. Pajudois, 37, of Mena, on Charges of Possession of Meth and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Report from complainant on Polk 147 near the Potter community of damage to a vacated rental property. Officer advised owner of legal options.
Report from complainant on Polk 76 East near Mena of an unauthorized person cutting a gate chain and attempting to gain entry to a camper trailer.

Report from complainant on Polk 181 near Mena of the break-in and theft of several tools and hunting items, totaling losses at $1,625.00. Investigation continues.
June 7, 2014
Report from complainant on Polk 17 near the Vandervoort community of the theft of a metal tin horn. Information has been provided to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for further consideration.
Report from complainant on Polk 90 in the Acorn community of the theft of a motorcycle, valued at $4,500.00. The motorcycle was later recovered in Grand Prairie, TX.
Report from complainant on Polk 195 near the Ink community of being the victim of a forgery, totaling losses at $1,900.00. Investigation continues.
June 8, 2014
Traffic stop on Polk 37 near the Potter community led to the arrest of Howard W. Blume, 19, of Mena, on Charges of DUI, Driving with a Suspended Driver’s License, Faulty Equipment and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. A 17-year-old Hatfield female was issued a Juvenile Citation for Possession of Intoxicating Liquor by a Minor. The juvenile was released to the custody of a parent/guardian.
Report from complainant on Polk 474 near Grannis of the break-in to a cabin, causing $200.00 in damages to a door frame. Investigation continues.
Arrested by an officer with the Grannis Police Department was Charles D. Springer, 39, of Wickes, on a Charge of Domestic Battery 3rd Degree.
Polk County Detention Center Jail Population: 23 Incarcerated Inmates; 9 Inmates currently on the Waiting List for a State Facility, of which 2 are currently out of jail on a monitoring system.
