Zane Sherrer, son of Cliff and Paulette Sherrer, has a passion for performing and entertaining an audience. He has been on the stage since he was four, cast as a squirrel in JOLT’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”. He is now playing the part of Charlie in the OLT’s performances of “Willy Wonka” directed by Rudi Timmerman. As a junior at Mena High School, he has performed in many things including the musicals “Guys and Dolls” and “Once On this Island” under the direction of Jessica Kropp. With the guidance of Ms. Kropp, Zane is pursuing musical theater/acting as a college major and future career. He was recently admitted to Carnegie Mellon’s 2014 Pre-College Drama program for Musical Theatre. He will spend six weeks, June 28th –August 9th, on the university campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania being professionally trained and experiencing a rigorous program. As one of thirty students chosen, Zane is eager to explore new challenges and bring back new learning to share next year with the other theater/drama students at Mena High School. He looks forward to the doors this may help open towards his pursuit of one day being on a bigger stage.
