Union Bank of Mena donated $5,000 to the Humane Society of the Ouachitas on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Michael Povey, volunteer for HSO, explained that sometime back, an anonymous donor gave $5,000 as a match funding to assist in spay/neuter fees and transportation costs for adoptions.
As a result, Povey sought the help of Union Bank who matched the donation. Their portion of the match will be used primarily for assisting low-income families in having their pets spayed or neutered.
To find out more about their programs and services, contact Shelter Manager Tina Ball 216-6280 or Michael Povey at 216-7425 or the shelter at 394-5682.
