Better is the poor man who walks in his integrity than he who is crooked though he be rich. – Proverbs 28:6
This fallen world we live in will certainly test a person’s value system but deep in the heart of every believer is the desire to be dirt poor and righteous in the eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ than to be rich in the things of this world that have been earned through “ill-gotten” gains. Our Heavenly Father wants to bless and reward us with the desires of our heart but will not when we do not conduct ourselves, even in the workplace, in a way that is honorable and pleasing to Him. “All is fair in love and business” is not biblically based and is the direct reflection of today’s “self-centered” society that promotes doing anything possible for self-gain, many times at someone else’s expense. As believers, we must keep our eyes up and forward and continue to make life-choices based on eternity instead of the here and now.
