Report was taken of the theft of $24.98 worth of fuel from a local convenience store. Case is pending identification of suspect.
A local woman who has a newspaper route reported that papers from machines at a local convenience store were being stolen. She was able to ascertain names of suspects, and they are being interviewed.
Daniel Chaney, 19, of Mena was charged with felony residential burglary, theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Report was taken from the caretaker of a local cemetery of someone breaking into the donation box. Case is pending.
June 2, 2015
Report was taken regarding young children playing with knives and an ax in the yard of a local residence. The knives were taken by police for safekeeping and the parent of the children was notified.
Employees at a local medical office reported that two checks had been intercepted from certified mail. They were payment to suppliers of items used in the office. Case is pending further investigation.
Joshua Ellis Harper, 21, of Mena was charged with possession of schedule VI controlled substance (marijuana) with intent to deliver.
June 3, 2015
A local man reported that he had been attacked as he got into his vehicle to go to work. He sustained several injuries to his head and face. Case is pending location and interview of suspect.

John T. Puckett, Jr., 41, was arrested on a warrant for failure-to-pay fines and court costs.
June 6, 2015
Joshua Anthony Bates, 25, of Mena was charged with public intoxication and obstructing governmental operations. The arrest followed an incident on a local street.
Viveca Blanchini, 57, and Ashley Cathey, 26, both of Wickes, were charged with theft-of-property (shoplifting) after a call to a local retail store.
Officers completed an additional seven reports and worked seven accidents.
