RMCC’s Upward Bound program hosted Chad Foster, author of Financial Literacy for Teens, at their recent event on campus. Chad is a former professional tennis player, businessman, and best-selling author who knows a thing or two about success and spoke to students about his experiences and financial literacy. He emphasized the importance of learning the difference between needs and wants and how to form good spending habits early in life. Choice is a major factor in everything we do and Chad discussed four main options students have when dealing with their money; spend it, save it, invest it, or give it away. Students had the opportunity to ask questions afterwards and they also received a signed copy of his book, Financial Literacy for Teens. Upward Bound is a pre-college program for high school students to prepare them for education beyond high school.
